Inspiring Parents To Work at Home

By Stacy Perez

Many parents dream of being able to work @ home and make an income, but never make their dream a reality. Why? Many parents work outside their homes, because they think it is their only option of making a legitimate income. They depend on a guaranteed salary to provide for their families.

Guess what? You don't have to quit your job! You can start transitioning to work at home in your spare time. I worked outside my home, until I gave birth to my son on 11-24-99. I started researching working at home before he was born. My dream was to become my own boss and not report to anyone, and I was determined to make my dream a reality. I decided to take an extended maternity leave for a year hoping to land a work at home job or something to make money at home.

Like most families, we depend on two incomes in order to take care of our family. Today, most families cannot survive with one income. Families need two working parents in order to provide for their families. Before my son was born, I really didn't know much about being my own boss working at home, how to go about it and start something. Mid 1999, in the middle of my pregnancy, I began researching working @ home. I started searching working @ home in search engines. I subscribed to a few work @ home ezines and started looking into work @ home positions.

By the time my son was born, 11-24-99, I had three work @ home positions lined up. I told my employer, of 4 years, I would be taking an extended maternity leave for a year. I started two of the work @ home positions and realized I would never make as much as my outside job. By the time my son was 4 months old, I decided starting a website would be the best thing for me. It would provide me being my own boss and it would give me the ability to make money.

By April 2000, I launched my first website, DotComMommies.com. The website was the answer to me making an income at home. Within 6 months, I was making almost what I was making at my outside job. By the time my maternity leave was over, February 2001, I had already exceeded what I was making outside my home.

Today, I have 3 active websites and 3 ezines, combined are making double my outside salary.

Start by researching working @ home in your spare time. If you have an idea or interest you can turn that into a moneymaking opportunity for yourself. The Internet has opened many doors to making an income at home. Take the resources online and use them to help you work @ home.

Working @ home can be a reality if you make it one. You can transition to working @ home in your spare time. Whether it is a direct sales opportunity, home business opportunity, a money making opportunity, or a business you start you can make your dreams come true and work @ home, making an income, while raising your children.

Best wishes on your success!
