Home Care Assistance of San Diego Celebrates Second Anniversary

San Diego’s Premier Home Care Provider Soars Into Second Year With Doubled Revenues, More Than 65 New Caregivers and a Host of New Programs That Keep Senior Adults Mentally Stimulated, Socially Engaged and Living Healthy Lives

SAN DIEGO – November 17, 2009 – Home Care Assistance of San Diego (HCA-SD), the premier provider of live-in care for seniors in San Diego County, is preparing for its second anniversary in conjunction with National Family Caregivers Month (November). Since its opening on November 15, 2007, in Encinitas, California, HCA-SD President and Founder Ron Kinder has been dedicated to enabling older adults to maintain the lifestyle and freedom they deserve in the comfort of their own home through quality live-in care. Mirroring the National Family Caregivers Association’s mission to educate, support and empower those who care for senior citizens, HCA-SD likewise empowers and educates caregivers in delivering quality care to seniors throughout San Diego County. As a testament to its focus on quality and personalized care, HCA-SD has doubled its revenues year-over-year and added another office in La Jolla, a unique feat in the current market conditions.

Home Care Assistance of San Diego offers three unique programs that improve the quality of life for seniors and prolong their independence:

  • 1. The Balanced Care Method™ focuses on the individual as a whole. Caregivers are trained in The Balanced Care Method, developed from the Okinawa region of Japan, which recognizes the connections between diet, exercise, mental stimulation and social bonds to reduce stress and create an enjoyable, independent life for seniors.

  • 2. The Culinary School for Caregivers, led by professional chef Dorothy DiTomaso, provides hands-on cooking classes exclusively for HCA-SD caregivers, where they learn how to prepare healthy and tasty meals to make with their senior companions. The Culinary School is centered around the belief that good food is an enjoyment for individuals of all ages.

  • 3. Celebration Parties give senior adults the opportunity to invite family and friends over for a three-course dinner party prepared and served by a personal chef. This program helps to restore social activities once enjoyed at a younger age and provides seniors with events to look forward to.

“Not only do our programs at Home Care Assistance separate us from other home care agencies, but our caregivers are all experienced, well-trained, and certified,” said Kinder. “Our clients need not worry about unpaid taxes, caregiver worker compensation claims, or bonding/insuring of caregivers, because we take care of the details.” HCA-SD has a track record of hiring the most qualified and comprehensively screened caregivers and training them with the skills necessary to provide top care to their senior companions. Acting as a matchmaker between senior adults and caregivers to ensure a mutually beneficial relationship, Kinder is dedicated to helping senior adults in San Diego maintain an enjoyable life through good food, good company and unparalleled personal care.
