IFA & MFV Team Up To Promote Franchising Around The Globe
Four New U.S. Pavilions at Major International Franchise Expositions Planned in 2010
WASHINGTON, Jan. 13, 2010—The International Franchise Association and MFV Expositions today announced the two organizations will host U.S. franchise pavilions at top international franchise shows in 2010.
“As the global economies begin to rebound in 2010, the franchise industry will play a key role in the recovery by creating jobs and economic growth,” said IFA President & CEO Matthew Shay. “By providing opportunities for IFA member companies to gain exposure in countries where franchising is expanding, we can help pave the way for companies to grow and prosper in every corner of the world.”
To capitalize on this expected growth in franchising around the world, the IFA strategic plan outlines renewed emphasis on international programs for IFA members. IFA will continue its international development educational sessions, as well as its partnership with the U.S. Commercial Service, to promote U.S. franchise companies overseas.
In addition to participating in franchise expositions in China and the Middle East and hosting dozens of international delegations at the International Franchise Expo in April in Washington, D.C., IFA will team up with MFV Exposition to host a U.S. Pavilion at four expos around the world including: the International Franchise Fair in Mexico City, March 4-6; Franchise Expo Paris, March 14-17; the Brazilian Franchise Association Franchising Expo 2010 in Sao Paulo, June 9-12; and the Franchise & Trade Expo in Milan, Oct. 15-18.
“We’re extremely excited to host franchisors in the U.S. Pavilion in great markets like Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Paris and Milan,” said Tom Portesy, president, MFV Expositions. “These events have proven to deliver the highest qualified prospects year after year, and our partnership gives IFA members yet another resource to grow their brands worldwide.”
Participants in these U.S. Pavilions will have the opportunity to meet with qualified prospects and have a significant presence on the show floor as part of the pavilion.
“We are pleased that we are able to expand our international promotion of franchising in 2010,” said Shay. “The global market is key to the economic expansion of our member companies.”
