Total Woman Gym and Day Spa Adds TRX® Suspension Training® to Its Innovative Fitness Programs

The largest full service elite gym and day spa chain in California offers the Cutting Edge TRX® Suspension Training® System, the newest fitness craze, in all 10 Southern California locations

Los Angeles, CA – November 18, 2009 -- Total Woman Gym & Day Spa today announced the implementation of the TRX® Suspension Training into all 10 Southern California locations for club members seeking a dynamic, innovative and challenging workout routine. It is the latest fitness craze and for good reason, it is an amazing workout for all fitness levels. Total Woman has been dedicated to helping women achieve their fitness, wellness and spiritual goals for the past 44 years and this training technique is the newest fitness trend available.

TRX is “suspension training” using an individual’s own body weight as resistance and was developed by Randy Hetrick a Navy SEAL. TRX Suspension Training builds total body strength, balance, flexibility and core stability for people of all fitness levels. It is a complete total-body training tool and cutting-edge training system to take your performance to the next level.

The TRX Suspension Trainer was an invention of necessity for Hetrick and his SEAL teammates to maintain peak physical readiness while deployed in the field. The TRX has evolved into the ideal training tool for Total Woman instructors to guide participants through Suspension Training® movements to deliver a total-body muscle-sculpting workout.

TRX has been featured in Sports Illustrated, Wall Street Journal, The NY Times, Washington Post, ESPN, Men’s Fitness as well as a big hit on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser”.

Suspension Training allow users to self-adjust the amount of resistance they want, making it suitable for people of all fitness levels by making small changes in foot, hand or body position; this capability empowers participants to continue with training, even when fatigue sets in. This versatility makes the TRX Suspension Trainer attractive to so many users, from elite athletes in every major sports league, all branches of the military, and fitness enthusiasts at all levels.

“We launched the program in October and everyone is crazy about it because it works strength, flexibility and core for any level user,” states Fitness Director Beth Franklin. “Total Woman continues striving to look for and provide the newest innovative fitness techniques that will benefit our members. We pride ourselves on offering our members with the latest technology in every element of the company from the spa services all the way to the work out floor.”

Each location will utilize free-standing 20-foot wide TRX Suspension Frames that support multiple TRX users in group and personal training settings. The TRX Suspension Frame creates a dedicated functional training zone which also supports multi-user pull-up stations, Bosu integration, resistance band attachments, Swiss ball and heavy ball training and other great functional fitness tools.

Total Woman Gym & Day Spa is now offering TRX Suspension classes at all 10 locations across Southern California (Laguna Hills, Brea, Mission Viejo, Irvine, Placentia, Glendale, Westlake Village, Woodland Hills, Northridge and Encinitas).
